I Have Failed... AGAIN!

 I have been trying to lose some weight this year.  Well frankly I have been trying to lose the same 20 pounds my entire life, except somehow that 20 has become 40. I was trying to eat well and exercise. I am sincerely trying to do the right things, but I just keep missing the mark. Snack here or there, an extra beer or two, an extra slice of pizza or taco.  It is so frustrating, I feel like I am doing what I should be doing 90% of the time and that last 10% is killing me.

So... what do I do.

I failed, so what, lets start over. AGAIN!!! Its not like I have a choice. I can either work on this or I can live in my failure and I refuse to do that.

I did some searching on how to "start a goal over".  The Interwebs gave some insights that I will share here.

How to overcome a failed objective and start over:

Dune: Part Two - Too Much Movie for a Movie

The sequel plunges into the narrative with little ceremony or exposition, expecting audiences to grasp the intricacies of Herbert's complex world with scant foothold. The lack of contextual grounding that a well-crafted exposition provides is sorely missed, making the entry point for newcomers virtually inaccessible and leaving even seasoned fans of the source material yearning for a moment of narrative respite.

New Smith Machine

 First workout in the new Smith Machine today.  I bought an ER Kang Smith Rack over the holidays. Cost me about $1000, took about 8 hours to put together.

Decent machine, bar moves smoothly.  The rack gets a little wobbly at the top and that is troublesome.  I may have to anchor the top of the rack to floor joist as it sits in the basement and they are visible.  

All in all, I am OK with it.  I think!

Here we are. January 2024. I find myself in a pretty good spot. I have a good job, great kids, great friends, a wonderful girlfriend, and my health. However, I do find myself in a similar spot. I am 40 pounds overweight and ready for the next step in my life.

I wanted to make another run at writing every day.  If nothing else, I want to create something.

I want to make another run at getting in real shape. Start that OnlyFans career.

I want to make another run at changing the way I eat and I cook. I want to stop eating so much "easy" food.

I want to make some changes that make my life better.
